Anyway, I don't see what all the fuss is over...mods are chosen as needed and those that ask never get it so it is best to not worry about it.

As far as the shout box is concerned I understand why it was nuked...was sure it would be once it was implemented (had the same problem at AR if I remember correctly...not to mention all the SPAM ).

I am glad we will be getting the vet thing! I will say that I think it should be based on join date of our original sign on (Like for AgentOrange he had to redo his account because it was deleted so he looks like a noob when he has been around since the last start up) and/or an actual post count of 1000...not that vbPlaza +50 crap which should be removed IMO. Also after the initial pull in I think it should be changed to only allow new members by vote of some of the current vet members...that way it will be more prestigious...but that is just my opinion.

Are you saying that it should be or shouldn't be done through a post count of 1000? I personally prefer doing it by join date alone, although I know people who would have problems with that.

I have to agree there. Although, again, I know there would be people that would have more problems with that.

I think join date is the first thing to accept on then if they have a 1000 actual posts and have been here at least a year then they have proved themselves...if they have been here 3 months and have 1000 posts then there has been some serious spamming going on that just wasn't caught...not to say that is 100% true but it is hard to believe they have posted 1000 quality posts in 3 months...just my opinion though.

I don't care if people don't like it, this should be a prelivage not a right...voting people in after the initial pull in is the way to go.

i think you're totaly right, it took m almost 6months to get like 500psts.XD.
im pretty proud of my posts though ^_^,

I didnt even noticed that the s/o box was gone.(neither did i noticed when it was up until i seen the thread :P). so its no real loss, but its glad to see post count will be resuming its usual activity, yet im also upset that it will.......

This new vet group seems to be promising. my only question is.. Is this gonna be selective?, id be more at ease if it was.

i like this new vet group ,you have came up with but sasurai is right though selctiveness is a good idea because everyone one will be be breaking there fiinger posting alot respones even if they have no clue what the thread is about just to get to 1000

I applaud this action. I knew it would bring a drop inposts, it did when the shout box was brought in back in AnimeReflections.

It's unfortunate that the shoutbox has been removed, but if it was the cause for a drop in the number of posts, then it's probably a good idea that it was removed. ^_^

Vetrien Group = fancy name for Veteran Group? It sounds like a good idea - something above Elite Group status gives members something else to aim for even after reaching Elite status. I hope it won't encourage spam though lol. I like the idea of the Vetrien status determined by either post count or joined date. If it was merely determined by the joined date, it wouldn't be fair for members who joined in 2005 and later, but are active with good quality posts.

Eh, what's all this talk about wanting to be a Mod? The idea might seem appealing, but it's not a walk in the park lol. I personally admire the way the Mods here can handle certain situations, and honestly speaking, not everyone's capable of doing so. AO doesn't seem to need any more Mods at the moment, so we should let the matter drop for now.
