The only reason why I wouldn't have more post than you is because I rarely see you post now. Though I wouldn't be surprised if you still had more posts. Mind you I did take two long hiatus(s) from this site.

Anyways, back to what I said, I didn't change. If you think about it, I have reasonings behind what was said. My reasoning is a lot different from "I'm a vet and I don't want others having it", I'm just stating my opinion.

I agree with the mod's picking the members of the top status on the site....as long as you know...the mod doesn't start dating some noob and give that person the high status just for that reason (I am not saying the mods here would do that but my point is I have seen this on other sites a lot).

I still must say I preferred the old way of just not having the status at all. I mean a person's true status on the board has nothing to do with that little userbar under their name. They are defined by their actions on the boards and some people will never become a vet in that way no matter how long or how many posts they accumulate.

Worthless posts are still nothing more then worthless even if you pile 50000 of them up together over 10 years.

50000 worthless posts eh, reminds me of adultswim, . Anyways, I will agree action should earn more respect than posting, so, either way i don't care. Status or no status, it's not like the site itself changes or anything. It's just their to please the eyes of us members.

I actually wouldn't mind having the staff + the group of vets to determine who gets in or not. Then again, it'll be a lot of work and don't be surprise to see a lot of bitching by members about the voters' integrity.

But I would love to see if the veteran group can get some more privileges. Perhaps that would help with member retention, and members will see this place as more of their home away from home; instead of just some "site" they come to post and leave.

Agreed, if more benefits were given to the veteran status, it would make the site a better place that would keep the members happy enough to stay long-term. And it would give more of the lower ranks determination to post better quality so they could achieve the status, if we do the voting process. As for the bitching, anyone who complains over the voters doesn't really deserve to be promoted anyways, unless they have a valid reason that one of the higher ups is being unfair.
