I think it has been proven that some games increase hand - eye coordination.
Games have proved to also desensitize people to violence as well. If that's a bad or good thing I don't know. Kind of depends. Also there are games like resident evil and a lot of RPG's that have puzzles and help with problem solving skills. Games are good. As long as you know the difference between them and reality.
It has been proven that you can get addicted to games over a period of time, which can cause eye problems, mental problems and an increase of lazyness.
Some games increase hand-eye cordination, stratagy, and mathamatics. I first learned how to read and do math from pokemon
Advantage : uhh.... faster reflex. , it keeps me occupied. lol, or generation has developed stronger 'thumbs' as a result of Gameboys, mobiles etc. lol ^_^
Disadvantage : RSI (repetitive strain injury).
-One kid died from playin comp games for 2days straight. (rare case)
