Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

well, I think the chicken came first...because even if the egg hatched, the chick can't provide itself with all it's needs and I don't think it can protect itself from predators ... it needs some guidance and support. However, the chicken (full grown) can support itself for it has a sense of maturity and independence.

...and also, I don't think the egg would hatch if there was no hen to sit on it...the egg needs heat...y'know :D
