Remember the first time we met?
Complete strangers, not aware of others’ presence
Yet I smiled at you

Soon after we met again …
A tragic incident met your life,
Which will leave a scar in your memories forever
But thank GOD you’re okay

You deserved your justice,
You deserved to be free again and you did
But there was something missing in you
A lack of smile, joy, glee and delight

I came in your life with only one aim in my mind-
To make you happy again,
To make you forget about that heartbreaking event
And I was making you happy

You made me glad in return,
I was happy whenever we met
Even though you didn’t notice it
But little did I know,
You fell in love with me

I never knew until the day you told me,
In the freshest day of spring,
During the marvelous of the sunsets
You told me you loved me

Those three words – “I love you”
Meant a lot to me,
I was so glad to hear that
I held you in my arms,
Held against your warm body

It was so peaceful,
But we knew it wasn’t possible,
Because we had other things in mind
You knew I couldn’t love you,

Nevertheless I didn’t give up on you,
Your gentle smile,

I knew the consequences of my actions,

It was painful for me to just leave you like that

That day I acted like a jerk,
I wasn’t the sweet guy anymore,
I wasn’t the caring person,
I acted completely different

I hid the pain,
Even though I couldn’t love you,
It had to be over
I acted foolishly,
You were shocked and crossed

I knew there that it was over
You had to break your ties down with me
I acted like a fool for a purpose,
