A boy runs to a field saying Alexander is dead.
Given to generals is what came of the land he led.
An old man asks the stars “is it good or bad news this brings.
Alexander were you a tyrant or the best of kings.
Alexander you were the grandest of generals and men.
Alexander in battle you would fight with strength of ten.
Alexander across half of the world you tied a noose.
Alexander no wonder some thought you the son of Zeus.
Alexander did you believe yourself a living god.
Alexander alone can say if it was a facade.
Alexander when you tamed a horse that woke the sleeper.
Alexander more than Titans, on Earth, you carved in deeper.”
