for a friend that was more like a sister to me.
for a friend that would take time out her day to hear what i had to say.
for a friend who was my idol in a way.
always there for me when i needed her.
always there to keep me company.
yes she was ghetto as hell, but thats who ashley was.
she was the girl who didn't take any mess
stood above all the rest
was a true friend from the start, thought nothing could tear us apart.
until a stray bulet went up tha block
before i know, my girl was shot.
what was supposed to be a trip to 31 flavors, turned to a run for our lives
went at the wrong place, got caught up at the wrong time.
On march 22, 2007, ashley leanna reacheane mims died of a bullet in her back, and suffered a fatal heartattack.
she was more of sister to me than a friend.
her family took me in when no one else would.
i would switch places with her if i could.

ashley you will be missede always and forever.

I think not. I wrote poetry when my great aunt died, and it still was using the rules of english. Death doesnt mean disregard the fact that you're living.

Then this happens, and its like the tears of a clown.

I've lost a few friends to sensless acts of violence myself... so I have an Idea of what you may be going through.

I really hope you can pull through this and be you again. If shes your sista like you say she is... you know shes gonna want you to stay strong, and keep bringing smiles to peoples faces. Because you're good at spreading joy.
