Black Friday Day Of Hell

I am the associate
You are the "guest"
Together we clash in hell
The day they call black friday

Through the aisle we weave
creating a nightmarish dream
sales and deals galore
little goes untouched

Down go my displays
Apart go my boxes
and crash go the glasses
in my face you grumble

Without a care you rampage
You search and drop
Leaving behind a wake like Katrina
Do you even really care?

This is my job I know
but I do not deserve your middle fingers
or your complaints and eye rolls
Keep your stupid opinions to yourself

I have been here 9 hours slaving away
Like an expendable object you pass me by
Look at me and see
I just want you to frickin' leave

I know how that feels, I really do.
because I have a job just like it. man do I hate my boss when he is in my face.
but this poem is a great message to others when they feel just like you.

I am sorry to hear that, but my day turned out to be fine minus the waking up early to work. Most customers were actually pretty friendly if you reach out to be friend first. Of course there are always screamers.

Most of our employees tried that. My favorite guest was one that came up to me with her cart while I was putting up new stock and she thumped me in the side with it. I turned to say excuse me and squish in further but she just pushed forward pushing me back and ran right over my feet with the heavy cart. Once past she just kind turned her head a little and was like, "Sorry..." in the most snotty of voices.
