We cannot all be famous
or be listed in who's who
but everybody, great or small
has important work to do
For rarely do we reealize
the importance of small deeds
or to what degree of greatness
unnoticed kindness leads
It's not the celebrity's
in a world of fame adn praise
but it's doing unpreteniously
in and udistinguished way
THe work that god assigned us
unimportant as it seems
makes our task outstanding
brings reality to dreams
So do not sit and idly wish
for wider and new dimensions
where you can put into practice
your good intentions
But at the apot god placed you
begin at once to do
little things that brighten up
the lives surrounding you
If everyone brightened up
the spot where their standing
by being more considerate
and a little less demanding
This dark old world would
eclipse the evening star
if everybody brightened up
the corner where they are!
I would like to dedicate this poem to rave_grip because he has had some tough times and has always managed to brighten up my day!

Holy crap I love this a LOT. It made me smile. Especially because I've been thinking just exactly the same thing so much lately. I don't know when it became okay for individuals to be so selfish and only care about themselves rather then try and brighten the lives of those around them. Lately it seems everyones just trying to make everyone misrible. And that's ****ed up.
I have the same feelings... only mine are a bit more complex... some people acctually make it their mission in life and i just don't understand that.
