Thread: Can't (Poem)

I wrote this poem late last night. I don't even really now where I got the inspiration for it. lol Tell me what you think.

Can’t hold on to water
Falling from my fingertips
Flowing into a river
Winding far away

Can’t hear the wind
Over the ringing in my ears
Blowing through the forest
Leaves dancing in the breeze

Can’t smell the flowers
Because of garbage in the dumps
Still growing in the green fields
Trying to catch the sun

Can’t taste the sweetness of fruit
Since there’s too much junk
It’s there hanging on vines and trees
Waiting to be picked

Can’t see the light
It isn’t in my dark eyes
Hidden in the shadows
Where’s the switch to turn it on?

Can’t find myself
Swallowed up in the world
Too many puzzle pieces missing
Scattered all around this earth
