PHOENIX

Far away in an enchanted land
Skies so blue and plains so white
A flame begins to dwindle
And the phoenix dies

Deep in a nest of cinnamon
A bright fire ignites
Flaming soul is reborn
A legend born at last

Up from the ashes
Out of the darkness
The hellfires blaze
The phoenix is rising again

I like this one better. It's a triumphant sort of anthem, the sort of thing that would become a band's signature song. A concert opener perhaps.

There's some mythology splashed in, too.

The legends about the phoenix say that when a phoenix dies, a new phoenix embalms the ashes of the old one in an egg and deposits it in Heliopolis, the city of the sun, in Greece. Taken from Wiki.

LADY VENGEANCE

I was a broken man after her death

Morals mean nothing to me anymore

Breaking down all doors
Eyes crazed like those of a madman

I see something strange
Is it fear?
Is he sorry for what he has done?

Shaking those thoughts out of my head
I pull the trigger and end it all
Floors and carpet stained bright red
I stand back against the wall

I hear Lady Vengeance cackling now
Darkness spinning all around
Did I serve justice?
Or have I become what I despise?

This song is partly based on the movie Eye for an Eye, what with the 'revenge' theme. It's mostly it's own story though. If you can't tell, Lady Vengeance is a metaphor for the desire for revenge or justice.

This is mostly a love story gone wrong. A bit based off personal experiences, but I meant for it to be a ballad about a young man who's been hurt, basically. I don't like it as much as the other two.[/color]
