Waking up in the morning
and going to school
Just another mundane routine
and obligation to uphold

Textbooks and homework
keep me confined from leisure
It's almost like prison
except no bars on the windows

Teachers pushing me
to my limits
Classmates pestering me
for the answers

At lunchtime
it's first come first serve
Long lines always
meandering through the cafeteria

My parents always telling me
it's to enrich my future
But to me
it's relentless torture

Day by day
and from first to last period
Each second is ticking away
Then the cycle repeats.
