Drinking the Silver Bullet

(This has absolutely nothing to do with anything. I've been making up a song all day - this is it - and the end result came out like this. WARNING: My friends wanted me to write a country song, so NATURALLY there will be poor grammar and a sad theme, basically drinking imagery and suicide.)

"Drinking the Silver Bullet"

Tonight’s the night I’m going to prove it.
I’m gonna to drink that silver bullet.
It’ll feel so warm going down my gullet,
A whiskey rush if I just pull it.

The trigger ain’t too cold beneath my finger
And the metal in my mouth don’t taste so bad.
I left a tear-stained note addressed to Mom and Dad:
“That silver bullet told me not to linger.”

So, I’ll step into the shower and pull the curtain,
So that all my shame can be washed down the drain.
I’ll drink a silver bullet to take away all this pain.
I’m drinkin’ it tonight; of this I’m certain.

Tremblin’ like a newborn in the new snow,
This monster hums a final lullaby.
I swore I’d love you ‘til the day I’d finally die.
Now that you’ve left, I think it’s time to go.

You left me two receipts from JC Penney
And a toothbrush that we shared for eighteen months and a week.
And I’m here with a silver bullet and a tear upon my cheek.
I can't believe you left me -

Wow... a classic man... i love it.. a very very good song indeed... the rhymes and the flow was awesome...i can picture it with the decription of my self doing so...it's damn realistic man.. i can actually feel the gun in my mouth...

Thank you. I wanted to make it realistic because, in my mind, it was. I've never been left by a girl living with me (having never lived with a girl), but I know from the experience of others that it hurts beyond measure.

I keep hearing people swear to their lover (of two weeks): "I would die for you!" This poem is an homage to their naivety.

lol ^^ well I don't know why but it made me laugh... maybe cuz I knew you too think if would be kinda silly to "drink a silver bullet" just because of some gal... ^^ But it was damn enjoyable to read this ^^ Because, as Ray said, the rhymes and the rhythm is very, very nice ^^
