Aw such a sweet poem! I wish I could write in that particular style. I love how you matched the title with the poem. Very nice descriptions![]()
Look off, dear Love, across the sallow sands,
And mark yon meeting of the sun and sea;
How long they kiss in sight of all the lands,
Ah! longer, longer we.
Now, in the sea's red vintage melts the sun
As Egypt's pearl dissolved in rosy wine
And Cleopatra night drinks all. 'Tis done,
Love, lay thine hand in mine.
Come forth, sweet stars, and comfort heaven's heart,
Glimmer, ye waves, 'round else unlighted sands;
Oh night! divorce our sun and sky apart
Never our lips, our hands.

In the mystery of evening, when I find myself alone
With the shifting scents of autumn intertwining warmth and chill,
As the last of sunset's tapestry is fading o'er the hill,
So our love has reached a twilight with a beauty of its own.
As the shadows fade to darkness--only silhouettes remain--
Brilliant needlepoints of starlight pierce the crisp, clear autumn skies
With the secrets of tomorrow, just as sorrow stings my eyes
With my memories of yesterday--our love, our joy, our pain.
A breath of coolness whispers through my poignant reverie
Hints of endless, empty dreams in icy nights not meant to be.
While life's seasons change around us, stay 'til morning's light with me
Near the ever-glowing embers of our evening mystery. nice i love it ....
Foolish beating
