Someone help me out,
please. Help me understand.
I've got questions, need
answers--do you have a sec, man?

The other day, Momz told me,
"You've become a good dad."
But I don't know if that's true,
so it kinda makse me sad.

Am I really a good person?
Does my son think so?
Those questions get repeated,
because I really don't know...

I wear the shirt which
says I'm the #1 dad, and
I'm sure it's a shirt that
my father never had.

I want to be the opposite
of what my father was to me.
Because my dad wasn't around
until I was about twenty three.

I love my son more than
I love life itself.
For him, I would kick open
the very gates of hell.

I would do anything to
keep him safe from harm.
He will be out of danger
as long as he's in my arms.

I really need to know.
I have to understand.
How do I be loved by him?
How can I be a good dad?


**Fact: I met my dad six months before I turned 21. I said 23 in the poem for the sake of rhyming.**

It's good to hear that others think I'm a good parent, y'know? I've got this self-doubt issue--had it since I was little, so It's kinda hard to answer certain questions for myself. Which is why I write so much.

And, OOOH!!!! CBS81 GOT BANNED! For shame--that's what happens when you make low quality crap-posts. Especially when it's in a thread involving someone's art. >_<

It's really wonderful to read all those kind of questions any dad would ask to himself.

But I think most of the time it's not easy to answer all those questions to yourself.

So it's awesome to write them down and make a poem with them, it shows allot about a person and I think there are many people who carry the same questions with them.

Like I always... I can capture on how you must felt when you was writing this poem... I'm just getting to know you, but I already think your son is lucky to have a father like you... Keep up all the emotions you put into your writing & you can't go wrong... Even if others don't tend to like it... At least they can feel where you are coming from... (That's to any writer/poet out there...) And I know you live & do it for your son, but you representing for the fathers that does care out there.... So keep on that #No. 1 Dad's shirt & let them know... Who you be!!! ^_^
