A Lover’s Story

She has problems giving others her heart
She had never experienced love before
Never felt the sweet, gentle touch of a lover
Nor had she ever felt that special way before

She’s been through a lot in her young years
Seen and experienced things most don’t want to think about
But yet she’s been deprived of the necessities
Of the love and tender care that every child needs

She was on the verge of a suicidal death
Dead inside because no one was there
And the ones who were no longer cared
She was just an object for everyone to use

She left a random hello in a guy’s life
He returned it by saying hi and asking how she was
She put up a fake smile and said just fine
However inside she knew she was becoming alive

It’s been six or seven months and the struggles they’ve gone through
Become nothing more than a distant memory
But she wouldn’t give him her heart, not completely
Because deep down inside that part of her was still sleeping

She awoke one night when the snow was falling outside
And she had just found out that she would be moving
Crying, she waited for him to arrive
And when he finally did, she gave him everything inside

All the love and passion she had always kept bottled up
The tears and fears just vanished when he was by her side
She thought that there was nothing they were hiding
However she found out different one night

She talked to a girl who was dating him for a year
They were together the whole entire time he was with her
And he still had asked for her to marry him
He had a lot of nerve

There was so much that she thought about
And somehow it didn’t add up
To the pain, hurt and betrayal she now felt
And slowly, once again, she died inside

Yet she thought about it and realized
That the love she has for him will never die
It will never dwindle for he brought her to life
And the love they shared was like burning flames inside

She loves him and always will
No matter what they go through
They will always be there, by each others side
For it’s their love that’s pure both deep down and inside
