**Numbers run through my head all day. I have to do lots of math at work. It's kinda how this was inspired, though there's really no math involved here. LOL. Enjoy**
One is the number that
really gets on my nerves.
It's a singular number
that never has a plural.
Two is okay, at least
one's not by itself.
Lonliness is a bother
and it's bad for your health.
Three can be a crowd
only if you hate numbers.
Though, it's bothersome
when one and two are lovers.
Four shows up and makes
the drama real heavy.
Things will get heated
and people will get sweaty.
Five comes along and
tries to make things right.
No one likes to see familiar
faces jump in to a fight.
Four says "screw it"
and tries to holler at two.
"Hey, did you know I'm
equally divided by you?"
Three and five take off,
they go on a hot date.
Three got pregnant now,
they're stuck with eight.
Two is angry because
the "even" number four
won't S-T-F-U and get
on out the door.
One says "bye" and
wanders off for a bit.
The singular digit
doesn't want to deal with it.
Numbers can explain
just about anything.
From when you were born,
to the value of your ring.
Numbers, the universal
language of fact...
When I start spewing numbers
off, how do you react?

Wow... Holy crap that's like the best thing I've seen you write so far. It's PERFECT! I like the messege and the cleverness of your presentation. I HATE numbers personally and yet I really REALLY love this poem. The drama it examples. THe flow. The wording. EVERYTHING!

I really didn't know where I was goin' with this at first, but when I stopped halfway, I realized that even though I didn't know where I was headed with that poem, somethin' in me did. I guess it's just because I see so many numbers during the day, somethin' inside just popped and decided to write. I couldn't even tell you how long it took to write this, because I was in the zone. ^_^
I bet you were. Had to have been for it to have made so much sence, and not just in the story-telling sort of way, but the true to OUR lives sort of way. I am so glad this came out of that little beaner of yours. (Your head. Not your junk.)
