Slowly, I saw the minute pass.
Right then, I knew your empty glance
Was filled with lies and promises
You had no intentions of keeping.
Oh, but still I held on tight.
With desperate hopes to make it right.
Hoping that truth was lurking somewhere
In your arms as we were sleeping.
So slowly the the moment seemed to pass.
Though it was fraudulant, I tried to grasp.
But lies just seep right through my heart
No matter how my needy fingers clench it.
The moment's long gone, Im left here sitting.
What a fool am I? Who was I kidding?
To have offered water to a thirst, who thought...
Im not worthy enough to quench it.
