Psych-ward
Some people put too much hype toward.
A much needed visit to the psych ward.
Ain't got no delusions of flyin' with a cape.
But, I have some haunting thoughts I need to escape.
It could be said that I'm on my last thread.
At least I can adjust the head, on my hospital bead.
And the food here ain't so bad.
If you never had home cooking its the best you've had.
The nurses sit in their station, tucked away safe.
Safe from you, the patient, so know your place.
Because If you leave this place, and move past those locks.
Be bigger than the room, Think outside the box.
So when the box smashes, and the room keeps spinning.
Look in your paper bag to find the things that keep you grinning.
Giving into thoughts that pump your fists or throw up your hands,
Will land you in a wonderland of pills and wristbands.
Sedatives lay me down to sleep.
I pray to God, my mind I'll keep.
I couldn't get negativity to discard.
Ended up in a psych-ward, waiting for discharge.
***Yes, I really wrote this from an Adult behavioral health facility (AKA psych-ward. So? Some of the worlds greatest people were crazy. Take EMINEM for example...... riiiight....

Re: Psych-ward
I like this a lot. It's extremely well written and... I've been there myself but never ...gone there. You know what I mean. Anyways. I really think this is a fantastic poem.
