As I lay alone in bed,
so many thoughts tormenting me.
I don't know why I lied to you,
I should've let everything be.
You see, this is what I wanted,
for you and I to stay away.
And when you told me to tell the truth,
I wasn't sure of what to say.
You asked me if I really loved you,
my heart was torn as I said no.
All that ran inside my head;
"I just can't let these feelings grow".
I said we wouldn't have a chance,
because we live too far apart.
That was the reason that I gave you,
but not the reason in my heart.
You're everything I ever looked for,
I love you more than just a friend.
But what if everything does change,
where will I stand at in the end?
I told you that this wasn't love,
I knew you'd never understand.
I didn't think it'd hurt this much,
though from the start I had it planned.
I tried denying all my feelings,
but it's killing me inside.
I said I didn't love you,
I'm so sorry that I lied.

wow that was really awesome, i like the intro to the poem.
GREAT poem the quote in the begining really set it up nicely and the peom was fab.
I think you ought to add Away to the end of that sentence but other than that, seriously WOW!! I'm in love with a girl right now, and we're dating, but she leaves in two weeks, and she won't be back until next summer, and she's going overseas. I told her how I really felt, because I was always just a really close friend. Now we're together and it's what I've wanted for nearly two years now. But I swore to myself I'd do what's best for her, and it makes me wonder if I should have done what the poem says. I considered it for a long time, telling her I didn't love her, because then she wouldn't have to go through the pain of letting me go. I don't know if I did right or wrong, but this poem will always have a place in my heart. Truly incredible my friend. I expect to see great works from you in the future.That was the reason that I gave you,
