A little poem about my return to the site after a couple months' break.
The fire does flicker and eventually die
The smoldering embers, the closing of eyes
The breath is cast out and the heartbeat, it slows
And permanent sleep rushes from head to toe
As the burning sensation numbs and subsides
The once blazing life starts to ebb like the tides
The smoke billows forth from the pile of coals
Yet the sparks remain vivid with unfulfilled goals
And so, from the ashes, new life starts to form
A towering inferno, like Hell's frightening storms
With a music like cry, the babe spreads its wings
The newly born phoenix gets ready to sing
The cycle remains unbroken and strong
Life and Death dancing to an eternal song
This is a poem a friend and i worked on while she was in iraq fighting:
Title:Lady I Know
There’s this lady I know, she’s been through so much.
She’s been to hell many times and back, yet her flame of courage has not died down.
Glowing bright and strong in the blackest of nights, she lives on.
She has strengths that amaze men.
She smiles when she wants to scream.
She sings when she wants to cry.
She goes without so her family can have.
She loves unconditionally.
If there is one flaw in this woman, it’s that she doesn’t know her worth.
This lady I know has shown me the power of woman.
This lady I know is my mother.
Good Job Lelouch. I hope she is okay fighting in Iraq can be difficult. I know.
Um, why did you post your poem in a reply to neodeath's poem.. eh Lelouch?
Either way I thought the poem was real deep and exquisitely worded... a little more than what I expected from a poem about leaving a website for a couple months.
it was on accident and i didnt know where eles to put it. so i just posted it cause it was in a poems thread. but didnt mean to post in in neodeath's. but thanks for the compliment...
