Sanctuary?

Sanctuary me?
Oh no!
Theres no sanctuary here,
as there once was,
Driven on the retreat,
A mass of losses on this side,
"Fall back, fall back," they say,
but what conflicts is the order given,
"Charge into the the fray!"
Half goes that way,
the other the opposite,
Soon I'll be split,
Far away, far away...
Theres no sanctuary here...
