Searching For Something

Sitting on the cold floor of my prison
Stairing out the barred window
Wondering what life is like
What is in the outside world

Wiggling under the blankets
Knowing tomorrow will be the day
Tomorrow I'll try to escape
To leave this prison I call my life behind

Setting out on a journey
A journey of my life
Walking that long and empty road alone
Never looking back to see if the decision was right

Though there will be trials
Obstacles that have to be over come
Life will never get the best of me
A helping hand will always be there

Pure determination keeping my mind and soul strong
Never faultering or second guessing the decisions made
My prison far out of sight making it easier
Now able to wonder alone in the world

Searching through life
Like searching for answers in a book
Flipping through pages
Looking for one thing to keep me together

Never wanting to go back to my prison
Also never wanting to live life alone
Yet the jouney wanting to close
Like a book ending a chapter so another can begin

Finding the answers through love
The prison that once bound me no longer there
Now able to enjoy life to the fullest
Taking it one chapter at a time


I know alot needs to be done so give it your best shot at what needs to happen to make it a better poem.

I really liked your poem. It was filled with alot of happy and sad emotions. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading your next one.

I like this poem, but in this stanza I think that the word think should be changed to things. I'm not sure if you meant to type it like that, but either way I understood what you were trying to say! Keep up the nice work Ky-lyrra!:thumb:

Spelling and punctuation would do well for this poem.

One thing though people can critique my poems all they want but I have my style just like everyone else but thanks for the words.
