Shadow of Me

A black reflection of me is cast
Every time light hits me
A shadowy figure appears
A twin, beneath me

You mimic my every move
An echo of my life

I find both good and bad in you
You are my enemy and my friend
Your company helps me when I'm down
A friend who is always by my side

Alas!
Every time I glance at you
You remind me of my guilt
The sins I've commited
And the monster that haunts me in my sleep

Somehow, dear shadow
You help reflect who I am
Who I really am, deep inside my heart
And with that, I thank you.

Seems thought out quite well, doesn't rhyme, but doesn't need to as long as its nice to read as it is in this case. I hope to see more too, as I'm probably be inspired by the happenings in AO and my surroundings for my new thread I started in this section of fanfic and poems.

A great poem, Elie. Keep up the AWESOME work. I love it. It has a beautiful meaning. It remind of a poem that I adored so much: Eclipsed Truth-Written by my favorite poet.

i have to admit but u got these descriptive emotional poems nailed. they just keep on getting better and better. i can only say how great so many times. but it seems that i don't know any words to reflect the true brilliance in ur poems.

anyway keep up the great work, ur poems are always a pleasure to read.

how about reading one of my poems

It kills to feel

I hit I'm fine, I cut I feel, I die I'm free
The need to feel is killing me
The blood flows out along with pain
So I cut, cut and cut again

Life it hurts, it ****s you up
Pains a release, ah a hot fag butt
There's one way out I have found
The noose the knife around the throat no noise no sound

Is there a life after death?
If you go on living I curse thee god, don't jest
I hope there isn't anymore for me
So when I die, I will be free

But I am living and I must go on
My friends would be saddened to see me gone
So for my friends, for the moment I'll stay
But when there gone to death I'll lay
