Daughters of Eve, and Adam’s sons,
The fruit still lingers on our tongues.
Its juices poison our thoughts unclean.
And, the times we partake, don’t go unseen.
Can you feel it slithering up your spine,
With intent to keep your spirit blind?
Though our paths are lit, and we hear the voice,
Our creator has given us a choice.
Do not fall victim to its lure
To be hurtful, vicious, or impure.
Evil lurks, with a stench of decay,
Which strengthens when we lose our way.
Its desire for our souls, will never cease.
But, the promises will bring us peace.
Though the moment is trying, if we’ve come to it.
God promises to get us through it.
His all-seeing eyes, they look upon us.
His loving hands are wrapped around us.
What we lose in sin, faith will recover.
And, what we need, we will discover.
If crimson fire pulls us back.
If we seek false truths, in faith we lack.
Know that sin is humanity’s disease.
The cure, is falling to our knees.
*Note: I am NOT very religious, this poem is written for a religious event... So I played the part. I am spiritual... And I believe everything I have written... Only I typically do not personify "God" (He, his, father, ect.)
Nice... I like it very much... Spiritual and... teaching.. It was very interesting to read this and it made me feel bad too... It's surprisingly effective, really made me feel bad 'bout how evil and sunful this world is...
Anyways, it was very nice to read your work again and I hope to see more too ^^
the sins of the father are so often
visited on the son that is what comes
to mind here and living with sin that was brough
about by another is something that happens to often.
i loves this poem for the fact that it shows no matter
what you do or how you try and move on with life that ONE
sin stays with you untill you forgive your self because if you ask for
forgivness yu will get it but if you dotn forgive your self the forgivness
