Thread: Smokey Eyes

She looked at herself in confusion
she spun around telling herself, "it's only an illusion"
it seemed so much has changed
but on the outside her smile still remained,
the bright look on her face
would never reveal the hidden taste,
the taste of smokey eyes
the thought of unforgotten lies.

she remembered every word she had said
knowing where it would have led,
even with knowing how it would end up
without thinking, she dropped the cup,
as it smashed to the ground
everyone turned around,
the face they once knew
was now sad and untrue.

the loved smile had died
they look at her then discussed how she lied,
the unforgettable times of wanting to be alive
had drifted away to the cold dark skies,
she looked at the one set of eyes that couldn't believe
then she noticed he got up to leave,
as he walked away a tear ran down his cheek
then she felt her dark mascara leak.

he stopped at the door and looked into her eyes
she could see all of him was dying inside,
she had thought he was on her side
little did she know he didn't think it was real,
he thought maybe, she'd forget how she feels
she carried the feeling of depression,
and he thought that from what she did to stop it, she would have learned a lesson.

but instead she let the feeling take over
and all it did was make her lonlier...
