Sniper's Lament

Sore and weary i march alone
and yet i know i must not slow
here i sit in position prone
a bullet waiting to make blood flow

a sphere of flesh obstructs my view
a childs head, in this im new

i must do this, she carries death
my only hope is that she's innocent
the moments come, i hold my breath
i pull the trigger the silence rent

i pulled the trigger the silence rent
to her my own life i would have lent

many times after i faced this plight
but i have fullfilled my mission
my darkness fighting with the light
it seems i made my decison

in my country i will not fail
no matter the consequences that entails

A powerful poem there.. very interesting.. love the way you used the words...and the rhymes are nice...

Well this is pretty good, I must say.
I like it due to the fact that though he is a
killer. he would give his life for the person he has to kill.

I think you should write some more, and soon.

Interesting concept and topic. However correct capitalization would look nice.
