My name is Death and all will know my face
I entice you with sleep and a shadowy lace
Most everyone fears me but wrongfully so
I am only a passage to the new life you go
Yet I can breathe in the fear you create so easily
The fear that seems to surround my darkened entity
Oh how you tremble when at night you do roam
So you cling desperately to that which you know
Until before long you are bound in my throes
Some think me the judge of their life soon to be
They are likely confused between God and between me
Though I offer no heaven or eternal damnation
I merely take lives without hesitation
Spend not your life in fear of Death's land
But rather be wary of God's judging hand
So don't think of me as an unloving friend
I am your last piece of happiness before life's end
And one day I'll come for you at your final goodbye
Just know that life awaits you wherever we fly.
