here we go again around this merry go round of life.
this time im steppin up, this time im putting up a fight
aint no more being knocked around or being down
im steppin up, its going to be one hell of a throw down
sidestep, upper cut if i must
im a man of my word and im steppin up
no more given up, it wasnt my style anyhow
forget about what you knew, im not the same as the fool that used to play the game
this time i got fame from my writings,
im steppin up against the odds, takin all the nods and knocks they throw at me
this is my game now, and ill stare you all down
steppin up and stompin you down its all about the power i bring today
this time im steppin up, aint no more quitting, aint no more running away
im steppin up

Atleast a bit of capitalization or punctuation is all that I think would make poems more intelligent. It certainly isnt necessary to make a poem good. But there's something this poem is missing, IMO. It lacks a certain "umpf". It could be that it sounds like every other poem that tries to sound hard..

really? wow, this is the first time that alot of my work has been critized... im not complaining, i really think that some of my work needs improvements.
sorry about not capiltilzing(sp) or spelling. i have a disorder that makes me rush things and never see things all the way through
