A Struggle for life
Grasping hold of this light
In throes of death
knuckles white
Must hold on
Must keep up this fight
for if I don't I will slip away
forever lost in night
The pain pours in
Blinding my sight
Can't breath but I must win
My chest is tight
Darkness starts creeping in
I push it away with all my might
Must not fall, must stand tall
I focus all of my anger and all my spite
Fear can be fought, I'll stay here
if I wish to get through this plight
eventually Death will make a mistake
no matter how slight
Grasping hold tighter the light
Death will have to grip
knuckles turning white

Re: A Struggle for life
The finished work is always more beautiful than the some of its parts.

Re: A Struggle for life
this is a great poem tho. and the balance between the struggle of life and death gives it a deeper meaning than you might gather on your first read.
