Thread: Tears of the Sky

Upon the parched mountains,
The heat is everlasting,
Lashing its rays onto my skin.
Yet I play in its blissful presence,
Barefoot I feel the hot, dry earth.
The wind brings comfort evermore to cool my hot skin
Then I feel a trickle of water on my nose, then on my arm, then on my leg.
Trickle, Trickle, Trickle, I feel everywhere

The sky, The sky, why does it cry?
Bringing its tearful presence upon the land.
But now I see why.
The emotional of sadness it does not posess,
For the teardrops are playing, like children in happiness,
It replenishes the land from the sun's wickedness,
And carpets the land in green grassiness.

My laughter harmonised with the beat of the raindrops,
Giving a beat to a whole new tune.
We sing of the months of green and fertility that is to come.
To the ground the raindrops fall.
And like a lovely orchestra it makes its own tune.
I heard myself shout as I say,
"Let it rain, "Let it rain.

For all I am inquisitive,
As I dare myself to taste to tears of the sky,
Will it be salty just like mine?
And with an outstreched tongue, I greet a raindrop into my mouth.
Oh how ordinarily sweet!
It quenches my thirst with just one drop,
I don't want this rain to stop.

The smell of rain is intoxicating.
Like alcohol to the drunkard, it knocks me out of my senses,
And brings a new life of promise unto me.
Also bringing a new sense of placid reasoning
I am born again.
