Not bad. I like the way it tells the story of how Kenshin got his name.![]()
"The beginning"
I was just a young boy,
Sold to a slave traders.
But the moon had a evil look,
And even though I had
Known them only a few days,
I wanted to protect them.
But they died in front of me,
I wasn't able to protect to them.
The men had spilled their blood like hungry wolves.
And he came, Hiko Seijuro.
He had great strength,
And he saved me but he was cold.
He said, "I don't know why I came here,
perhaps it was fate that led to me to save your life.
But be greatful that tonight you live."
He left me walking off into the night.
I couldn't leave those who cared for me,
I even dug graves for those who tried to kill me.
It was dawn when I had finished.
He came again and praised me
For digging the graves even for the killers.
I couldn't find anything beautiful for my carers,
But Seijuro poured his sake over their stones.
He showed a kindness in the monrning light,
I could see it and he took me in.
I was called Shinta but it was a soft name,
He gave me the name, Kenshin.
The heart of sword and I was to gain true strength.
Okay ppl this is it, the tribute to one of the most strongest samurais ever created. Enjoy it and COMMENT PLZ.

The simplicity of the poem made it easy to read. Kenshin is one of the best Samurais out there though, haha. But I would argue that Mugen is just a raw to the core, lol!

Simply Awesome, Blade! ^^ It's really neat because you fully yet correctly described the beginning of the OVA series: Trust. ^^;; This poem came out smoothly til the end, which is perfect! Keep it up!!! I truly am impressed, Blade. So, I presume you will also go deep, and cover the betrayal and the reflection parts of the OVAs as well. I cannot wait to see how you walk the tribute to the end! ^_^
I have one thing to bring to attention, I think Kenshin was sold to slave traders. ^^
"Hiko Seijuro and the Loss"
He was my father, my teacher.
He thought how the world worked,
It's cruelty and ruthlessness to those with power.
Us, the warriors with powers should not interfere.
I trained long and hard with him,
Till my hands bled with the sword I held.
He was harsh on me yet was fair,
Always correcting my mistakes.
He thought me how to gain true strength,
Not to gain physical strength.
But the understand the true nature of the sword,
The heart of the sword.
To live for those had died for us, protecting us.
I didn't understand it but he promised me,
"Once you understand this, I will pour you sake
And it will taste good. I promise."
Soon, I grew in strength and speed.
But I couldn't ignore the screams of the innocent,
Those who were dying senselessly without a cause.
I begged him to help them but he was cruel,
"Do you really think that you're right in helping them?
When you spill blood, you become no better than the other side.
We cannot get involve because we are entrusted with a power.
A power which will help change the tide of war,
Souless men will be after you for your help."
I didn't care, I wanted to protect the innocent.
I ran off and joined the Choshu to protect the innocent.
Soon, I was recongise for my skills and Katsura asked me
For to help him protect the innocent lives and fight for a better world.
I went with along him to carry out my ideals
But soon, I was a shadow assassin and my purity was gone.
Blood would truly rain where I drew my sword.
This well basically Kenshin joining the Choshu just after spending time with his sensei and wanting to carry his ideal out.
Thanks for the siggy Ky-lyrra
Wow! I never that's how kenshin got his name!
Got bored on Photoshop so I did this xD
Nice redo
Keep it up.
If I am correct, this poem holds the scene, somewhere in the middle of disc entitled as: Trust. ^_^;; So, I presume you are trying to cover the OVA series bit by bit. ^^;;;; Anyway! Yet again, neat depiction of the storyline, Blade. I like the way how you try to bring along the story in such a way that people, who haven't seen/read Samurai X would understand what is going on. (^_^) But, where do you get all this inspiration, I wonder?![]()
One thing I would advice you to do is briefly introduce the new characters such as Katsura and others that are to come in the poem itself or seperately. ^_^
If you watch the Samurai X OVA series, you will even get to understand how Kenshin got his cross-shaped scar on his cheek, but I am sure Blade will cover that in his poems.Originally Posted by karinka
