Thread: Untitled (Flicker)

When the lights go out,
people become who they are not,
They become who they are.

Like a mask being taken off
and like a second skin being shed,
people change.

Transformed into what they
strive to avoid by means of light.
But only when the lights go out.

Truly, the soul us darkness.
Why else would it build a
barrier of meat around itself.

When the sun loses its battle
and falls from the sky,
God goes on vacation and time slows.

The oldest lesson man has ever learned is thrown away.
Humility fleeing graciously into the light of the moon.
The soul leaks out, darkening darkness.

At night when the stars are hard
mutation, evolution claws out of its cage
but dies before it’s completed, dawn has come.

When the streetlamps flicker in the dying irony
that means Apollo is rested and ready again to fight,
people change.

They become who they are not,
they become who that are.
But only when the lights turn on.

Like a new birth coming into the world,
like a another identity being taken.
Thus a new darkness can form.

People change.
They become who they are and are not.
But only when the lights go out.

They turn into everything they hate,
everything they run from.
But only when the lights turn on.

Just something I thought of whilst being bored. It was one of those bouts of late night holy crap I have to write this stuff down things that happen to people.
