Washed Up
I sat on the edge of the dock
watching the boats wash away to sea.
The tide came rolling in splashing me
with salty water and seaweed.
My hair matted and wet,
I ran to the tallest hill I could find
and collapsed.
A ladder appeared and above it
were eleven half moons with keys hanging
from them.
The keys glistened in the night sky as
only stars would.
The biggest key fell from the half moon that
failed it and landed in front of me.
Snatching the key from the ground I
ran down the hill tripping along the way.
My eyes opened to another of blue-green and
yellow.
I took his hand and we ran back to the
dock and threw the key into the water watching it turn from blue to black.

Re: Washed Up
This poem looked pretty. All the images it induced in my mind. But it ended abruptly. I still don't understand the purpose of the key.

Re: Washed Up
It was about opening up the ocean and releasing all the badness within the world. I know that sounds crazy but then again I am ^-^
