Wasted Effort

I wrote this poem to go with Peach_Follows' poem, Sex Upstairs.

Wasted Effort

I knew this was the time
I knew this was the night
My girl and I would be as one
Merging with delight

I started to embrace
That gentle warming skin
But inside she was calling out
"C'mon, let's just begin!"

We went on and on
It seemed we'd never stop
We wanted to keep going
Until our bodies dropped

Then we heard a noise
It was our neighbor, Peach
She turned up her TV
So politeness she could teach

I really didn't care
We just tuned it out
I was in some kinda ecstasy
I didn't have a doubt

The TV just got louder
And much to my dismay
My girlfriend stopped and said
"With this noise, there's just no way."
