    Smile はじめました

hi everyone, im new so i thought it best to post here.
in my search to teach myself Japanese i came across some .txt documents of lessons that seemed to be from this site, i cant find the original posts, but its my hope that i will be able to find some people who also want to learn, and maybe some who know and could tell me things.
i know some Japanese can read it for the most part except for kanji, and have some small knowledge of the meanings and grammar.

    はじめました,キノコです
    どうぞよろしく。

(i hope i didnt make any mistakes in that D: )

    Re: はじめました

「はじめまして」 would be preferable to 「はじめました」

「はじめまして」as a greeting is not the conjugated form of the verb はじめる

「はじめまして」as a greeting derives from 「初めてお目にかかります」 "I meet you for the first time" or more literally, "You see me for the first time".
I am sure you already know it is a common greeting, equivalent of "How do you do".

As for the difference between はじめる and はじまる、the former is a transitive verb while the latter is an intransitive verb.

If you really want to learn Japanese, take lessons. Trust me on that one. And make sure there are plenty of opportunities to speak the language as well as write it.
Spoken, Japanese is a fairly easy language. Written it's one of the hardest.

    Oh and welcome to AO.

Please don't try to bypass the character limit, we have it for a reason.

And yes, MushroomWobbit, it will be expensive. Unless you can find someone who can speak the language perfectly and is willing to teach you for free you will need to invest a lot of time and money.
