hallo, bin ich hier neu

sorry about the german thread title, but "hello" and "hi" seemed overused

I've been here for (I think) 4 days and I'm trying to understand A) what the blue boxes and pictures of flaming peices of mail next to the thread title mean, B)do posts in the blue-box threads count on your post counter thingy, and C) how do you get a "userbar", those things that people have in their sigs

I'd like to say hello to all of you and I'd greatly apreciate any answers to those questions, they've been bugging me all day:thumb:

To answer some of your questions,
A)I believe blue boxes means it's an active thread while flaming pieces of mail means it's a popular (or "hot") topic. I think gold boxes mean you've posted in an open thread and flaming mail with a black circle means you've posted in that popular thread ^^
B)Not necessarily. Posts in certain forums will contribute to your post count, and some wont. I believe they say somewhere around the title if they don't.
C)You can learn a little more on userbars here, and how to make them and such (If you make one yourself tho, you'll have to host it yourself). There's sites out there that have already made bars ready for you to put together, and there's even a site that will animate and host them for you too~ (at the moment, I can't remember it at all.. I'll edit this when I do though =))

thanks guys, especially Lil_G135 for giving me an answer to those questions, and yeah Kedar, unlike the last forums I was on, I've been able to to make some friends here and help a few people out. and I'm aiming high-I want to keep active here so that I can become an elite member, and I think it takes 500 posts to get there so I've been on it (and I wouldn't mind more kb space for my avatar:))
