Hi there!

Hey, I'm Michael "TheZorch" Haney (that's my username on FanFiction.net) and I'm new around here but I'm not new to Anime. I've been looking for a group/forum which was still active. So many have done quiet its scary. My own Zorch Central group at Google Groups hasn't seen activity in a few weeks, but that could be due to the holidays.

Anyway, I got into Anime very early on watching reruns of Speed Racer, Kimba the White Lion, G-Force, and then later Robotech. I sort of skirted the edge of full-on Otaku status until many years later when I hooked on a show called "Tenchi Muyo Ryu-Ohki" and then "Ranma 1/2". After that I started collecting DVDs, downloading fansubs, and in 2000 I start my own fan fiction story called "The Dark Lord of Jurai". Today, I write several fan fic projects most of which are set in the "Ranma 1/2" manga universe.

On top of being an Otaku I'm also a techie. I love games, tinkering with technology and learning new things. Right now I'm visiting this website using Firefox on Ubuntu Linux 7.10. My favorite games are Unreal Tournament 2k4, Half-Life 2, Final Fantasy XI, and Starcraft. My favorite anime of all time is "Ranma 1/2" and its my favorite manga as well. My second favorite anime is "Ah! My Goddess". My favorite Jpop/Anime artists are Megumi Hayashibara and Ayume Hamasaki.

So, that its it about me. I hope to get to know a lot of you really well soon and look forward to all of the great anime/game centric conversations we'll have in the future.

Well anyway, welcome to the forums! Good to see an experienced otaku here, and on top of that, a techie. Definitely sure we'll get along, and that also applies to the rest of the community, too.

It's not active in here right now because I'm guessing it's morning for most of the users here, but the community's awesome.

I have an nVidia card so I can turn many of the 3D enhancements on in Compiz Fusion, the desktop environment for Ubuntu 7.10. Look up Compiz Fusion on Youtube to see videos of what it looks like. Ubuntu runs great, I hardly use Windows anymore except for my games that don't work under Wine (translation layer for running Windows programs in Linux). I'm a certified A+ technician so if there are any technical questions I could probably answer most of them.

Good to see this group is pretty active. My own group has been inactive for a while but I think that's because everyone is still recovering from the holidays and one of our members got married.

Anyway, nice to meet you and thanks for welcoming me to the group. :D
