Have you tried Photoshop Tutorials and Flash Tutorials. It has a wide selection of tutorials in GIMP too.

do they have anything on animated sprite sigs cause it really find any tuts on it

try looking in photoshop, the programs are not that different as long as you know where everything is in GIMP.
