Overview:
Mushi are a form of life lower than that of humans, animals, and plants, but closer to the origin of life. Mushi's have strange affects on animals and have been known to cause problems for people(i.e. loosing memory, hearing, sight, or even causing dreams to become real) without them even knowing. Experts, known as Mushishi, help people whos lives have been changed by Mushi. This story follows one of these Mushishi, named Ginko.

Personal Opinion:
Ahh.. I've been hooked on this ever since I saw the first episode. I'm loving the dark atmosphere that this show presents and the constant animation quality. I guess one thing that I'm awed by is the sheer creativity of this show. I'ts one of a kind. It's set with dark color tones and slow, melancholy music.

I guess one downside of this anime is that with every episode is a different story. I guess it could be a good thing if you miss an episode, but I feel that I'd be more attached if it had reuccuring characters besides Ginko and the Mushi collector.

The manga is just as good, same art syle and same overall atmosphere and is also going to be adapted to a live-action film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo.

We've been watching it at the anime club, and I have to say, I don't really care for it. It's a nice anime-twist look at Shinto-ism I think, but overall I just don't care for it. Like the animation: all the characters except for the main character are nicely designed, but what's up with Ginko? Was there no creativity left when they got to him? Also, it moves too slow for my tastes.

I know several people who really enjoy it though, so it might be just a me thing, and that's ok.

this anime show is really awesome i have seen like two episodes of it.

I downloaded few episodes, but i never finished watching the whole thing, after episode 5 the series gets slow with to much talking.
