![]() ![]() Credits: 4,048 | Potw: 09-01/14-01 Let's get the show on the road, to make things come along faster, I'll try and see if a POTW will get some people posting as POTM tends to let too much time to prepare for a poem and finally no one seems to participate...come on folks, we need some poets showing their stuff ![]() This week I'll start with something simple as usual, but next week I'll try something new for everyone. For now, simply write a poem with the theme: Building Blocks I'll post my entry throughout the week, a bit before the end to give an idea of what to write if no one finds inspiration. Good luck to all, and this may seem a strange subject, but I think it leaves lots of room to elaborate on. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 4,048 | Re: Potw: 09-01/14-01 Please DON'T post in a thread when you don't understand what you have to do, please send a PM to the one who made the thread and ask your question. Posting in a thread and not knowing what you have to do is nearly considered spamming. I'm leaving your post there for others to see what I mean. In the future, please don't post when your not sure of what to do. But to answer your question: Think about "building blocks", imagine the meaning hidden behind what they might mean. I tried not to write an example so that people don't copy me, but what I thought of when I read this, was how you live your life, how you organise your actions so that you can grow upon your experience. That is one of many things you can write about, the goal is to write a poem that doesn't necessairy rhymes of the subject I have given. Which in this case is "Building blocks". Now, whoever puts some impressive original ideas I'll be giving out some bonuses, but we need at least 6 contestants for them to become active. I'd go for a minimum of 8 if possible to make things interesting. If more than 8 come and give it a try, i'd be very happy ![]() |

Time goes on and we begin to form our own opinions and think Yet there is always someone trying to force feed us politics. As young adults we start to learn about the joys and sorrows Love begins to weave its tangled web of deception to ensnare. Breaking hearts and allowing love to be captured and cherished Still someone is there to tell you how they think love should be. Now you’re on your own and realize how cruel the world can be You want someone to be there to give you guidance and comfort. Instead you are cast out of their warm embrace to pain and grief Forced to make your own decisions you begin to ponder and plan. Life begins anew; as you start resolve to the problematic equations The feelings of being controlled no longer there as they once were. You begin to see what the outcome each stage of life has brought For now you know and realize these stages are building blocks.

![]() ![]() Credits: 7,327 | Re: Potw: 09-01/14-01 The clouds that tangoed Smooth, warm hands roamed aimlessly over her body Their inquiry bringing small gasps to her mouth past white teeth This had been going on for quite sometime, she was getting restless She needed the sweet yet shattering agony of release The warm hands moved down further, questioning eyes starring into her own It was happening; finally, she would consummate her love Softly she felt prodding at her most secret area Her once active mind reeled, tango music blasted in her ears Suddenly, she and her love were dancing alone in a bright room There was a brilliantly rose dress swaying about her calves The music only got louder and the dance more intense Faster, faster, faster, she kept going faster Suddenly the music stopped and the room evaporated She was falling from the clouds, her love in her arms They fell endlessly until finally the found themselves in the bed Rapid breaths were heaving in and out of their mouths Slowly her mind regained its lost composure She hoisted herself up on an elbow and starred down into shining eyes I love you She said into her girlfriends loving face --- Y'know, I didn't want to do a poem in this topic for fear it would be excluded for content, the whole sex things and all. No other ideas came to mind though, so here it is, my entry. Not my best work, I know this but the block is back... Check the end, I managed to add in one of my patented twists, hazar! As always, enjoy.

![]() ![]() Credits: 1,477 | Re: Potw: 09-01/14-01 The Ability to Wait In times that decisons are need to be made, We have to be critical and logical thinkers, Being impulsive and reckless, we should not. In times that we are in need of a long-time commitment, We should not rash our minds and hearts, Eventhough we want to hold on to the one we love, We do not want to lose ourselves in the process. We can learn to run, by learning to walk first We can learn to swim by floating first We can learn to love, by being loved. It is wise to wait for that special someone Rather to make out with someone who is close at hand It is a wise idea to wait for that special someone Rather than be with some one who is just around It wise to wait for the right person For the reason that life is too short to spend with the wrong one. Waiting has a purpose, secretive yet good. Remember, flowers does not blossom in a day's span Rome was not built in a night's span A life grows in the womb for nine months. Great love grows steadily over a lifetime. Most good things in life take a long time, my friend They are all worth waiting for, indeed. Waiting requires a lot of things... Faith, courage, as well as patience and hope Eventhough waiting guarantees nothing, One cannot imagine after all, that God in all His wisdom, asks us to wait, for no essential reason. I made this poem... because for me "building blocks" requires patience and faith. We are to build blocks in each day, whatever we do... Building the blocks of life should not be rushed or it will end up ruined or broken...

![]() ![]() Credits: 4,048 | Re: Potw: 09-01/14-01 I guess the week has passed over, so I will have to close this now, 4 participants have posted so it's not quite enough to send out a prize, saddly. I hope the next POTW will have more activity. Reason for not coming earlier: I'm working my head off at my job and I got lots to take care of elsewhere... I should try to make another POTW soon enough, Raja_psyche, could you please PM me your ideas? By the way, all of your entries were very nice, but as always, aiming higher next time is best ![]() |
