^_^ they have a pet program that started in a Nevada prison!

basically, they take dogs who are about to be killed (i don't agree with the term "put down" or "put to sleep" BECUZ THAT'S NOT WHAT'S HAPPENING) and have very well trainer prisoners take care of them and try to work out the bad. it's given the dogs a second chance at life, and it gives the prisoners a chance to live again. a lot of them haven't felt love or cared about anyone for a long time, but since those dogs came, they began to feel that again. in fact, a guy thought he had become calous, and thought he couldn't feel anymore... but when his dog (Trixie?) was adopted, he felt that sadness and love. the lady taking the dog (Trixie?) said he had a heart... ^_^ and that made him very happy...

but yeah, i'm totally all for prisons not being a time out! we've seen again and again that sitting in a cell only makes you meaner and worser (haha, grammar). so let them work on farms, make cars, build houses, maybe even agree to try medication! and if they want to, even donate their organs when they pass away (however, there's that whole getting the memories of the donor, and that might suck but that's a whole 'nother thread, philosophy thing going on...)

Depends on what they did. I know if someone killed or raped my daughter, I wouldn't want them having a good old time. Id want them to rot or die. Victims don't get that.

right, right. i really couldnt tell wether it would be better or worse, though, if the victim chose the punishment....

as for the other inmates, you could take the assasins, put a collar on them similar to Battle Royale, and send them to do the government's dirty work, such as taking out Osama. if they succeed, offer them a nice reward. if they fail, they will probably die anyway, soo..

and then there are the petty crooks who didnt really do anything that bad. id say cleaning up the highway would be ok for them.

The people that commit BAD crimes, like rape/murder need to be put to death right then and their, if found guilty.

Those who rape are despicable, They need to be punished right away, instead of put in jail to rot, When we put people into jail like that...it's just more of our money going down the toilet.

Those who murder,and or kill...Need to be killed in return, If they think that they can treat someone that way, they need to be taught a lesson.

We should put them to produce and to work on the stuff that almost no one wants to do. Like legend said: sent them to fight (instead of sending students)... or the govt could put the to work on some hard jobs. Hey! someone has to do it and it is a way to not denigrate them as humans, and to use them on a productive way for society... however we have also to put in balance what put them in jail... and see if that person is capable to serve the society without making any harm to it.

Well if they rape or murder I am 100% percent for them being put to death. I say we just let them rot in jail. If they get to leave jail everyday just to do some odd job they would only have a better chance of getting away with them being outside, and the jail being up all the time. Thus leading to more, and more run away inmates which will lead to a increase in crime. So I say leave them in the jails.

I heard on the news today that they were debating wether to bring hannging back into action, it's still being decided if this law will be passed through the court and then it has to be accepted as a law Etc. But i belive it would be good as our inmates are getting away with murder and serving an easy sentence, (Thats what it said on the news anyway)

I dont agree with you on that.Yes thety have done some very bad things in thier life. But Killing them becasue they have killed someone makes use like them. DO you want to be like them. SOme of them had no way out and to get out of the pain had to kill or run away. NOw i'm not saying im for people killing to slove there problems, but they didnt have the thinking capabled to think of other ways. TO kill some one no matter what crime they did is still clod blooded murder. "AND THAT IS A SIN"
YEs sending more people into a jail and not killing them cost more, but why not have them go to work on farms. Like Abu Dhabi said.

Thats just what People who don't feel its right tell you to make you see it there way. So do you believe a soldier that kills in war are cold blooded murderers?
