There have been lots and lots of discussions/debates about all sorts of weapons/explosives lately. Now, I'd like to know this: Do you think that Nobel should've NEVER invented TNT? If you do, why?

As far as I'm concerned, we'd still be in this same sh*t even without Nobel.

Yeah I think so, we'll still in this kind of situation even he's not here......
But I think Nobel shouldn't be blame about everything......
Its people that should be blame for using it for bad things......
He just made this kind of weapons for protection......

Actually, he never intended to use TNT as a weapon. It was made to help in mining

I guess the idea that came up went something like this: "Hey, if it works on rocks, shouldn't it work on people too?"

Nobel invented the TNT and started an era of new kinda explosives.
And far as I know this was first step of that long road toward atomic bomb.
But even Nobel would have invented it we would be in the same point, someone
would surely have invented it. Only difference would be that maybe this progress
would have been few years slower.

If TNT hadn't been invented, we wouldn't have things like roads through mountain passes.

Nobel invented TNT because he thought that human would get scared by seeing such a mass destructive weapon. He didn't invented TNT because he wanted to destroy and kill people. Before his death he gave up all his money to create what we all known as Nobel prize, he just wanted to amend the bad thing that he did when he invented TNT.

Its like any scientific discovery, anything can be used as a weapon. I think Nobel creating TNT was excellent, it advanced the field of explosives and it also revolutionizd the mining market. Everybody thinks of what CAN happen or could it be used for, but think of it this way, without TNT, a shit ton of tunnels, mining shafts, Panama Canal anything and everything built into the rock would not exist. Soemone would have eventually invented it, but not to this extent. You can say just about anything is a weapon, should Ford have built the Model T just because a car CAN be used a weapon.
