I think that the issue with wiretaps is that the wiretaping doesn't have a court approval wich makes the wiretaping illegal. If bush had an approval from a judicial court this whole thing wouldn't had happened.
It's been obvious that President Bush has admitted to listening to all phonecalls in the US. His reasoning is that he wants to monitor for terrorist activities. Opponents of this idea claims that it violents the rights of US citizens to be entitled to their privacy. Advocates believe it is a step closer to a tighter national security plan. What do you think of this idea?
I don't mind being monitored, especially when I know I've not done anything wrong. I don't mind giving up a bit of privacy in order to protect the rest of the nation of a national terrorist attack. What do you guys think of this issue?![]()

hmmm i do and i don't. i do becase it's my right and mybe i don't want to be listened too.it's my privacy and people should respect that. i don't because if it's going to keep me safe...and the US safe then i don't mind. so i don't know really...depends.
Yet again there has revealed reason why US people shouldn't select Bush
to another season...
My opinion is that biggest threath to US economy at the moment is
their own coverment, specially pres. Bush.
Love hurts...trust me I know, I really do...
does anyone have anything better to do than hate on our nations presidents. we get one pres and its whine whine whine get another whine whine whine. quite frankly i dont care if hes listening in or not. personally i dont see how he can sit there and listen in on all the people of our nation. its like hes santa and can tell who's good and who's naughty. BULL. I Support Bush All the way. it never helps to protest our own nation. it only hurts ourselves. for example the soldiers of our nation hear that we hate them for going to war during vietnam and it lowers moral and we die more. so hey to me, you elect him you follow him. stop beliving every single thing the press or whatever says about our nation or nations leader. i could walk out and say the president shot 2 men on his ranch with a 12 gadge shotgun and i bet everyone would belive me. america is just so eager for bad news to hate on they dont see what great things we are accomplishing.
well thats enough of my rambling

I don't mind forfitting a bit of my privacy if it makes the nation more secure, and nor should anyone else if they have nothing to hide. If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to be worried about, it's that simple.
Death is your most loyal companion, for he will never fail you.
I just read this one book called "Childhood's End", by Arthur C. Clark, for English class, and they kinda dealt w/ this problem. I won't go into detail, but one thing was that they were being watched and monitored for their protection, and yet were accepting of it since they knew they couldn't have both security and privacy. But it still ticks ME off!
Treat me like an angel, and I'll be your little devil.
I don't like the idea of having my phone conversations listened to. I just don't think it's nessasary for my protection and the rest of the nations. I'm sure they wouldn't listen to every person's phone conversations in America, but I still don't like the idea of giving up that small amount of privacy.
