ok this subject has been floped around my family lately and i just want some out side imput. are the genetics like social or mental illnesses, personality, likes or dislikes,and talents really engraved in children before there born and stay with them as they get older or is it because kids are exposed to these traits by being around the perants.

it's defenatly influence. it depends on the person.
Well not only will it influence my future, but it will influence the world. I was studing genetics when I was in college and got a degree in biology and since then genetics has grown leaps and bounds.

Definate influence. Depends on people really. But yes, if your parents had a mental illness, there's a higher chance of you having one than someone who's parents didn't. But it also depends on your environment. If something traumatic were to happen to the person who's parents did not have a mental illness, they could get DID or something of the sort. Circumstances.
Your question was very confusing. Are you trying to ask whether your personality is based on genetics?
Obviously genetics is going to have some sort of impact on an individuals life. If one is tied down by some sort of genetic defect/disability.... then I'll bet it will somehow influence their future.
But an individuals personality or trait is an influenced by both 'Genetics' and 'Environmental factors'.
Lets take intelligence for example. Is there such a thing as the "Smart gene/IQ gene" or is is merely based on environment factors/influence?
Behavioural traits and genetic is still a researched topic. So I am not going to go in depth with this particular topic.
In the end lets just say: Yes, it is factual that an individuals personality is influenced by genetics.

Everything influences us and contrary to Soshi Kitai it can also change our futures because every influence produces a change howbeit a minuet change or a large one. The amount of change depends on the strength of the influence and our wiliness to accept or rather our susceptibility to change.
