Thread: Censorship- good or bad?

well while we are on such a topic i believe that the show south park (i know) made a excellent point about this whole freedom of speech / censorship thing. stating that either everything is okay to talk about or nothing because if you pull something because someone was offended than you pull anything that offends anyone and when you really think about youll see that they were absolutely right on this. all or nothing.

Indeed censorship is good wen it is applied correctly to sensetive subjects like religion. But censorship can be a problem wen the gov't cannot applied it correctly

i do not think that censor always good. even censor is almost analog to lie.
not give the info... is kind of lie right?even it feel better if we do not know the reality
censor is good if it used to block not good thing(s). like porn.
but it will be not good if it not used as it would be like.

When you censor something you wake up peoples´curiosity and they want to see even more..

I agree but there are certain things that cannot be shown to the public

i beleive that evry thing in life shows some impression, so sensorship can be good for those ppl who seem to be to young or simple minded to be exposed to certain objects, words, phrases, and images.

Yeah, but how do you tell who needs to be censored? And also, how can you tell who you're censoring the material for? It's all about opinions and perceptions. I've seen some very young children who seemed more adult and mature than my own parents. Then again, I've seen some very, very immature children, as well.
