I like the pledge the way it is because it fits with the sentiment found throughout the history of the US up to and including our money (bills).

So it changed. So what? It didn't originate with the country. It came later and was tweaked to fit the setiment. So what?

It should be changed to fit the new sentiment. Shit I don't think I even remember the pledge of allegiance.

Edit: I just said it alould I remember it for some reason. The undergod part sounds really arrogant and maybe that's why it should be removed.

whoa hold on I wasn't talking about you from New York I was talking about what Shodokan posted about the Knights of Columbus trying to get them to put the "under God" in their. They are from New York.

The only ones who have a problem with are the religious people.

The atheist guys who are upset with the "under god" words.

What exactly does the pledge mean by "under god." They could be wrong.

So, because less then 10% of the populace are offended we should change a historically significant tradition?

Good question though. Since the phrase "under god." comes from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address perhaps we should check the context.
