children under 13 suitable to visit forums?

I don't think it matters what age you are in a forum. Whatever they are subjected to they have already been subjected or will be in the future. The downside to having someone under thirteen browsing forums is they are opt to spam due to lack of maturity and brain power.

It depends on the maturity of the individual and the content of the forum they are joining...take AO here for instance, it seems to be fine for younger kids to join. Maybe not like an 8 year old or anything, but it's not overly mature and it doesn't have a lot of content that's not suitable for young kids. Some forums, like maybe a horror movie forum or a pornography forum, are obviously not for younger kids, and an age restriction would be needed.

I think those little twerp shouldn't be allowed in forums cause they are
TOO immature for some content cause they always whine about how

It all depends on maturity. You can't just use age as your factor. I think people would probably PREFER if you didn't see some of the stuff that goes on, but 13 and under people shouldn't be excluded completely.

I don't see why children under 13 shouldn't visit forums. Today, most young kids already know a lot more than we think. They are curious, they want to explore, understand. Children of any age are exposed to violence, drugs and whatever is good or bad in life. So, what's the point in refusing less than 13 years old kids in forums...

hmm....interesting question...but i guess it just depends on the forums and what they talk about...as for the ppl that put u down cause ur younger than they are...i don't know what to say...except...that there r mean, unwelcoming ppl in this world ...but there r also nice, welcoming ppl, too....so it's kinda varies...

Honestly, this is a tough one to answer. It truely depends on the content of the forum base and the audience or members in the forum.

Even then, some might argue that maturity is often mistaken with age.

For AO, I believe anyone can join and post, as it is a very PG rated forum with a wide range of topics for anyone to discuss. ^_^.
