    China and the olympics

okay all of you have probably heard of the protesting that was going on with the olympics being in bejing this year, especially about the tibetan problem. what do you guys think. should the olympics should have been held in china this year. keep in mind what the olympics are suppose to mean as a symbol of global unity and the consequences that has happened because of it, for example the attacking of the olympic torch.

they should have never even been concidered, let alone accepted to host the olympics. They haven't even followed through on one of their promises they made when they were selected, if anything, things have gotten worse since then.

This may be a bit heartless to the protesters' cause, but they should give it a damn rest, if only for the Olympic games. All it's gonna do is piss China off because they're pissing on China's moment in the world spotlight. It can be said that they're pissing on the olympics by trying too hard to make it all about them.

The Olympics are about the games and how everyone can "play nice" together despite politics. Let's keep it that way.

i agree that the olympics should be allowed to go smoothly but i also think that it was very smart for the protesters to start protesting during the torch race, because it gave them a spotlight they wouldn't have had if they had just protested normally. also if you think about it, all this protesting has actually given china more attention than the actual olympics themselves. maybe the protesting isn't really a bad thing for china.

China's time in the spotlight should show everything that china's doing, good and bad: Like the smog, jailing peacful protestors and journalists, censoring websites, and other general human rights abuses.

If you're going to go that route no country will be able to host the Olympics.

'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something

I'm sorry, but Canada doesn't abuse human rights. We don't Jail peaceful protesters and journalists, we don't censor media. China's the worst human rights abuser since Nazi Germany.

And even Nazi Germany hosted the Olympics in 1936.
