The Roman Catholic Church; when it made it's declaration 'bout "Creation" they also claimed that 1 Day in Heaven equaled a thousand Years on Earth and that the Earth was a little over 6,000 years and was in the "7th Day" period of it's creation. I remember this 'cause I had ta do a report, back in collage, 'bout it for my Western Civ. class.

Most people who are religious are, thankfully, not religious 24-7. Religion guides them in major decisions and comes to the forefront in times of trouble... but during daily interactions and events: most religious folk leave their Bible at home (if they've ever even bothered to read it).

My beliefs are 95% incompatable with the Christian majority in the United States, including two ex-boyfriends who were churchgoing, involved in campus religious groups and wore crosses to sleep. I still had a 2 year-long relationship with a Christian in which we fought over religion maybe... three times, ever... and never did it get ugly.

MOST people seem to think that belief is personal... and while, if given the opportunity to express their religious views in an argument they will, most aren't walking around with Jesus and creation on the mind all the time.

I don't think that your belief in where the world came from kajillions of years ago greatly affects your personality, life view or ability to percieve the fallout of more recent historical events all that much.

i believe the world was created in 6 days...

i mean, if God is everything He says He is, then i don't think creating all of exsitence in 6 days is really that much of a stretch. most times i just get the feeling that fellow Christians are trying to limit God's power by saying he couldn't have created it in 6 days.

i do belive that after he created the world, things began to grow and evolve on their own. that's why Noah was able to put all the animals on the ark, becuz there were not as many as there are today. now, could everything have been created over billions of year or whatever? i guess, but i don't see what's so ridiculous about 6 days if you take God for what he is.

how does it affect my daily life? um... nothing i can see directly. ^_^ but i like knowing where i come from~!

Oh they do, I should know, I had the misfortune to going to one of those when I went back east with my girlfriend to viset her family. Now my girlfriend and I are of faith, and she knew how bad it was when she was forced to go to this so called church when she was little and has told me everything that went on, and the only reason why we were doing this is because we were just making her parents happy. My god I cannot tell you how horrible it was!! My eyes were twitching from frustration and annoyance, pluss I started to bleed from my ears do to the fact this so called "rev" words were so stupid, ignorent, selfish, and moronic it was like razerblades being shoved into my head!! In the end I think I was knocked into a smi comatos state silently vomiting. As soon as it was over the two of us made a mad dash for the car and when we were inside I let out a blood curtling scream and just exploded into a full blown out raged rant that lasted about a good hour or so on how stupid, ignorent, racest, moronc, and retarded that was and how f@#ked up all those people are who believes that mass pile of bull s&*t!!

I feel that everything was created for me while I transcend to the next life, world, or whatever you wish to call it. Memories of other people, history in general, people I meet, and the future was all made from my mind to give me something to do - entertainment if you will - while I traverse. The arguement of "God" however is a unique apect to this train of thinking.

For instance with my thoughts, does this mean that I am indeed God? Yes it does, I am the sole creator of everything and nothing. There is absolutely no way to prove of disprove me, but, through math, I am able to tell why I believe I am the only one truly alive right now. But that would be irrelevant to the debate. ^^\

God of the Bible MAY have existed at one point or another, maybe he still lives today in his followers, working through them to bring about miracles.

An all powerful, omnipotent being such as he IS able to create the world in seven days - in fact someone of his caliber could create EVERYTHING in an single instant. You see Energy cannot be made, nor can it be destroyed. It can be manipulated to change properties. Let's say for instance that God is a container with an infinite amount of energy that he and he alone can transform into whatever he wants. It'll be no different to him than it is to us.

An example: Take water, it could be a solid, a liquid, and a gas all within a minute. It could turn to ice, to a liquid substance that we call water, and then it evaporates into a gas where it will hopefully fall back to earth as water. Freezing the gas though will make a liquid, though further freezing creates ice.

I know it sounds far-fetched, but think of us as God for a moment and the water our energy with the three different forms water takes on as the universe, or Earth. We form, created, and distort the form into whatever we as human/god want it to be and thus by manipulating energy we truly become god.

Well I guess according to the majority of people on this thread I'm ignorant. I believe in the bible literally. I mean if you believe in God and all of the amazing things he can do then why wouldn’t you believe he could do it in six days? I’m not the best Christian and I know I sin, heck everybody does. But my faith is what will save me, and I believe that it was done in six days.
